Like many people geeked out on the internet, I was totally psyched to download and test out Google Chrome yesterday. I used it exclusively all day. On the upside, it is fast…. really fast. I’ve noticed a big performance kick from FF2 to FF3, and google chrome seems to be a notch up from FF3. Not surprisingly, it was especially impressive running gmail, google docs & spreadsheets, and google calendar. I also think the new tab page that shows mini screen shots of your recent history was useful.
Despite the speed, it is a little too feature-light for me in it’s current form. I expect that google will beef up the features and the developer community will create some awesome plug-ins going forward. I think it’s definitely worth keeping and eye on, but for now, I’m back to Firefox 3.
